Remote Control & Cables
A remote control camera shutter release allows you to control the camera shutter without risk of camera shake. They usually have two stage buttons (one for auto-focus and one for actually taking the photography). Some even work wirelessly.
Along with the Hama DCCSystem shutter releases there are adapters available for all the popular makes of camera.
Cable releases are used with older cameras and are mechanisms attached to cameras that allow photographers to take photographs without actually touching the camera. Generally attached to a camera connected to a tripod, a cable release consists of a wire, extending from the camera, that has a button trigger at the end of it. The photographer holds the button end of the cable and presses to trigger the camera shutter to take a photo. Most shutter releases also have locking mechanisms.
