This iPower VTR3000 is a 3000 Watt Step-down and Step-up Voltage Converter. It can be used in two ways, either in the UK or other 220-240V country to power electrical equipment from the USA, Canada or Japan, or in the US, Canada or Japan to power appliances from the UK and other 220-240V countries.
Used as a step-down converter it converts UK 200 - 240 Volts to US 100 - 120 Volts. The output is pure AC and the voltage converter can be used with all appliances rated 0 - 3000W.
Used as a step-up converter it converts 100 -120 Volts to 200 - 240 Volts.
This voltage converter needs to be connected to the mains via the rear block terminal. The output is supplied by the adjacent block terminal. The voltage converter automatically senses the mains voltage and outputs whatever the alternative voltage is (either step-down or step up). It can manage a maximum of 3000 Watts but you must ensure the total combined wattage does not exceed the voltage converter's capacity. It is also a very bad idea to run the converter at or near its maximum for a long time, this would cause the converter's safety cut-out circuit breaker to operate and switch the converter off.
What Can I Use It With?
Everything with a rating of 3000 Watts or below (although it is important to allow some margin for error). It can be used with such items as computers, TVs and Hi-fis and some industrial equipment (check rating to be sure). This is a heavy duty voltage converter and it weighs about 9.5KG.
The iPower range of converters run more efficiently and are lighter in weight than competitor voltage converters in the same price range.
